Studio Organization

Everyone loves a good before and after. I can’t say I’m the best at documenting every bit of the process, but I had to document us completely transforming my system of organization. It has been a game-changer. Check out this Youtube short to see the behind-the-scenes.

I’ve been designing greeting cards and prints since 2019, and up til now, I’ve never had a good system. I’d store all my cards in somewhat uniform boxes, stack all my cards together, and use some sticky notes as tabs. It worked decently, but it was not a system.

Now that I’m scaling my card line and expanding into wholesale. It was time for me to make some changes.

I bought two critical pieces for this “makeover.”

  1. Ikea Ivar Shelves and extra shelves

  2. Corrugated Open Top Bins

As much as I wanted to just piecemeal together some shelves from Facebook Marketplace, Ben convinced me it would be good to invest in long-term supplies.

It took maybe half an hour to pull everything off the shelves. And another couple hours to assemble the Ivar Shelves. And, It took me a week to finally put things in place. But to be exact, after the first day, I was defeated. Ben actually finished up the rest for me.

Now, whenever I have an order come in, it is sooo easy to pull things to send in the mail.
